Connect Shopify

Synchronity connects to Shopify over the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), the commerce interface Shopify exposes natively. That means there is nothing to install on the store: no app, no plugin, no API keys, no access tokens to copy or rotate.

What you will need

The store's .myshopify.com domain, for example acme-coffee.myshopify.com. You will find it in your Shopify admin under Settings → Domains. It is the permanent domain, even if your storefront uses a custom one.

How it will work

1. In the merchant portal, open Storefronts and click Add Storefront.
2. Choose Shopify.
3. Enter your storefront domain, your-store.myshopify.com.
4. Click Connect store.

That is the whole flow. Because it runs on UCP, there is no authorization screen to approve and no credentials to manage. The connector is fully hosted by Synchronity, so there is nothing to deploy or maintain.

How Shopify differs from other platforms

Two behaviours are specific to the Shopify path, and they are worth knowing before you plan around it:

• Checkout completes on Shopify. Agents build the cart through Synchronity, then hand the buyer to Shopify's own hosted checkout to enter shipping and payment. The buyer finishes the purchase on Shopify, not in the chat.
• Order history is not available. Tools like list_orders and get_order do not return data for Shopify stores, because UCP does not expose order reads to the connector.

If in-chat checkout and order history matter to you, WooCommerce supports both today.

In the meantime

• Connect a WooCommerce store, available now via our WordPress.org plugin.
• Connect a custom store through the guided no-code wizard, which works with any storefront that speaks a small REST contract.
